Solid Tire Usage Precautions

2025-08-11

solid tires1. Solid tires are industrial tires used on off-highway vehicles, primarily for forklift tires, scissor lift tires, wheel loader tires, port tires, and boarding bridge tires. Solid tires cannot be used for road transportation. Overloading, speeding, long-distance and long-term continuous operation are strictly prohibited.

2. Tires should be mounted on qualified rims of the specified model and size. For example, Linde tires have noses and are quick-mount forklift tires, so they can only be mounted on dedicated, non-locking rims.

3. When installing the tire on the rim, ensure that the tire and rim are concentric. When installing it on the vehicle, the tire must be perpendicular to the axle.

4. The solid tires on any axle should be manufactured by the same solid tire factory, of the same specifications and with matching wear. Solid tires and pneumatic tires must not be mixed, or solid tires with different degrees of wear must not be mixed to avoid uneven force causing tire, vehicle, or personal accidents.

5. When replacing them, all tires on any axle should be replaced.

6. Ordinary solid tires should be kept away from oils and corrosive chemicals as much as possible, and inclusions between the treads should be removed promptly.

7. The maximum speed of them on forklifts should not exceed 25 km/hr. The maximum speed of them on other industrial vehicles should be less than 16 km/hr.

8. Because solid tires have poor heat dissipation, to prevent damage from excessive heat buildup, continuous use should be avoided. The maximum distance per trip should not exceed 2 km. Continuous use in the summer can cause high temperatures, so use the tire intermittently or take necessary cooling measures.
