Scientific Maintenance, Say Goodbye to Wear and Tear: Tips for Prolonging the Service Life of Tractor Tires

2025-09-28

1. During use, frequently check the tractor tire pressure and inflate to the pressure indicated on the tire sidewall.

2. Avoid sudden starts, sharp turns, and hard braking. Try to avoid starting in gear, sudden release of the clutch, high-speed starts with heavy loads and large throttle, sharp turns, and sudden steering wheel turns, as well as unnecessary emergency braking.

3. Slow down when driving on uneven roads or working on stubble fields of soybeans, corn, etc.

4. Adjust the speed according to the actual situation and try to avoid long-distance high-speed transportation.

5. When the tractor gets stuck in the field, avoid high-speed idling of the wheels in the pit.

6. Properly maintain the steering system and keep the toe-in value correct to prevent premature tire wear.

7. When removing or installing tires, do it on a clean surface and avoid using tools with notches or sharp corners. Do not bring in sand or dirt when installing, and make sure the tire pattern is facing the right direction.

8. Do not let oil, acid, or alkali come into contact with the tires to prevent corrosion.

9. When the tractor is not in use for a long time, lift the vehicle to relieve the pressure on the tractor tires, but do not deflate them. Also, protect the tires from direct sunlight. For long-term parked tractors and other machinery, if the tires are not suspended, especially when the tire pressure is lower than the specified value, due to stable deformation, in some cases, the outer tire body may delaminate or break, thus significantly reducing the tire's service life.

10. Generally, after a certain period of use, the left and right tractor tires should be swapped to extend their service life.
