Tires, as the parts of a car that come into contact with the ground, are undeniably important. Currently, there are many types of tires, including different brands and tread patterns, and the number of retreaded tires is countless. Therefore, learning how to distinguish between new and old tires is very necessary! Today, let's talk about how to avoid buying counterfeit and retreaded tires.

I. Carefully observe the tire hairs

Genuine new tires from the manufacturer will have many small hairs on the surface. These hairs will gradually disappear within 5-10 kilometers of driving. Therefore, it's impossible to fake these hairs on retreaded tires. So, when changing tires, be sure to check if the new tires have these hairs.

II. Lightly scratch with a key to see if it leaves a mark

Genuine new tires generally have good elasticity.  Lightly scratching the tire surface with a key will cause the scratched area to quickly return to its original state without leaving a mark. However, retreaded tires, due to their longer service life, have significantly less elastic rubber on the surface, and scratching them with a key will leave a mark.

III. Pay close attention to the tire color and tread pattern

Shallow, uneven, inconsistent, or asymmetrical tread patterns are all signs of retreaded tires.

IV. Distinguish by price

Price is a major factor. Don't be tempted by low prices and choose "new tires" that are significantly different from the market price. Of course, some may raise the price of retreaded tires to make them seem genuine, but cheap tires are definitely not good!
